Propria against the field

Jasper, Writesonic and Copy.ai, read on their own product and feature pages today. Every mark below is what the company says about itself. "Not stated" means their page does not claim it, and never that the product cannot do it.

Correction to this morning's PDF

That document said not one of them claims a human approval before publishing. That is wrong. Jasper's Governance module lists approval workflows, and Writesonic lists Approval Workflows on its enterprise tier. I had read their homepages and pricing pages, not their feature pages.

What survives is narrower and worth stating precisely: theirs is team routing, who signs off and under which policy. Ours is a factual gate, where a draft that fails its own source and date check is not delivered at all. Those are different products and the PDF should not have blurred them.

Five things we do not have

In the order I would build them, with the one I would not build at all.

Build first

Answer-engine visibility

Both Jasper and Writesonic sell it and it is the fastest growing thing in the category. Writesonic tracks ten platforms daily. Our free site read is already half the machinery.

Build second

Publishing integrations

We say the piece lands on your site, your feed and your newsletter. Nothing is connected. This is the gap between the promise on the page and what actually happens.

Build third

Drop documents in

Copy.ai's Infobase, Jasper's Knowledge Base. Our interest profile is the same idea and the client cannot put a file into it yet. Cheap to add, and it deepens the voice.

What is still ours alone

Nothing on any of their pages claims these four. That is the position, and it is narrower than I wrote this morning but it holds.

Voice from a real conversation

They define a brand voice in settings. We take it from the owner talking, typing or texting, and from what they have already written.

Sources in the piece, dated at source

Nobody claims the article carries its own references, or that undated material gets dropped rather than softened.

It refuses its own work

A draft that fails the check does not arrive with a warning. It does not arrive. No competitor page claims this.

Sealed client material

Stated as a condition of sale. Nobody else's page makes the promise.
